Competition Details

Thanks to the success of the Music City Songwriting Competition, the Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau is again conducting this worldwide search for the best original song and is partnering with Little Big Town, American Songwriter Magazine, GAC, Southwest Airlines^®, f.y.e., and Renaissance Nashville Hotel to make it all happen. All entrants will receive a copy of Little Big Town's latest CD, Tornado. The winning songwriter will be flown to Nashville for a TV interview, a mentoring session with a professional songwriter, the opportunity for a single song publishing deal, recording session, plus more. See the full list of prizes here.

Entries will be narrowed down to the top 25 which will then be judged by a panel of top names in the Nashville music industry, including recording artists Little Big Town, Grammy-winning songwriter Tim Nichols, ASCAP's Mike Sistad, GAC's "Headline Country" host Storme Warren, Alex Torrez and Nashville CVB President Butch Spyridon. Judges will rate each song based on the following criteria: melody, composition, originality, lyrics and, most importantly, commercial appeal.
