The Nashville Film Festival is one of the longest-running film festivals in the country, celebrating its 48th year in 2017. Festival-goers enjoy a plethora of works from documentaries and narrative features to animated and experimental shorts. Panels and workshops are also offered for those looking to enrich their knowledge beyond the screen.
Music Films Announced
Since we are in Music City, it's only fitting the Nashville Film Festival has a Music Films/Music City Competition. These films celebrate music, musicians, and the impact music has on our lives.
List of films: Arctic Superstar, Bill Frisell: A Portrait, Cassette: A Documentary Mixtape, Davi's Way, G Funk, The Last Songwriter, Score: A Film Music Documentary, Straight Into a Storm, and Tokyo Idols.

Competition Feature Films Announced
48 additional feature films have been announced in the Narrative, Documentary, New Directors and Graveyard Shift competitions. The selections include familiar faces such as Tom Hanks, Aisha Tyler, Bruce Dern, Jonathan Pryce, Maggie Grace, Anthony Michael Hall, Katee Sackhoff, Jeremy Sisto and Heather Matarazzo.
The films represent 27 nations and every inhabited continent and were selected from over 1,240 feature submissions. A jury of industry professionals will select the winning films that will take home up to $20,000 in cash and prizes.

Creator's Conference - April 26-29
This year, during the Nashville Film Festival, will be the Creator's Conference happening April 26-29. This conference, presented by NashFilm, includes robust tracks for filmmakers, screenwriters, musicians, and all kinds of creators. Come hear about the latest industry trends, paths that have led to success, ways to hone your craft, and meet others in the community! People like Jake Basden of Big Machine Label Group, Daisy Hamilton of TriCoast Worldwide and Dawn Soler of ABC Studios will all be there to share tips and tricks of the trade. This is the perfect opportunity for those with the dream to have their name next to "written by" when the credits roll. Check out more.
The Nashville Film Festival is one of only 17 festivals worldwide where the winners of the Short Documentary, Short Narrative, and Short Animation competitions automatically qualify for Academy Award consideration.
The Nashville Film Festival, named one of the top five in the U.S. by Brooks Institute, has become one of the premier showcases for the best new work of American and international filmmakers.
In addition to the many films about music and the Music Films in Music City awards, NaFF presents showcases, workshops, and other events where Nashville songwriters and artists come together with film professionals from Hollywood and around the world to promote collaboration.
