Cheekwood Celebrates a Storybook Christmas with 2012 Holiday at Cheekwood
Schedule also debuts LIVE Reindeer on Santa Saturdays
NASHVILLE, Tenn. —A children’s wonderland of live reindeer decorations, Santa visits, cookie decorating, and musical performances will all be part of Holiday at Cheekwood as Cheekwood celebrates A Storybook Christmas. In honor of Cheekwood’s year long literary theme, this year each tree brings a different Christmas tale to life in a new and festive way.
The five week celebration opens Friday, November 23 and continues through Sunday, December 30. Cheekwood is known around the region for its popular holiday decorations and family activities. Each of the trees is being decorated by a designer, all in style with their storybook theme. Stories and designers include: A Christmas Carol by ReCreations, A Wish to be a Christmas Tree by Amos Events, ‘Twas the Night before Christmas by Jim Marvin Industries, The Nutcracker by Knestrick by Design, How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Phillipe Chadwick, Frosty the Snowman by The Horticulture Society of Middle Tennessee and The Polar Express by OSHi Flowers.
“Cheekwood is magical during the holidays,” said Hillary Steinwinder, Director of Education & Public Programs at Cheekwood. “We are thrilled to be able to provide so many entertaining programs and events to bring this stunning season to life for children and families to enjoy.”
