Nashville's New Year's Eve Fun Facts
- Nashville offers the best 'bash' for your buck!
This town loves a good party, and all at a great value. Nashville throws one of the biggest New Year's Eve celebrations in the country with a full evening of FREE live music, fireworks and Music City's own midnight Music Note Drop®.
- Where else would you see a Music Note Drop®?
Nashville's 'Bash on Broadway' event is the ONLY place you can ring in to the New Year with the drop of a 15-foot-tall red music note covered in more than 150 feet of LED lights from a 115-foot structure. The Music Note Drop® will trigger a fireworks display and major confetti cannons as it reaches the midnight mark.
- Shine Bright.
In the 2013 event, more than 550 light bulbs were used in the '2014' sign that graced the stage, while more than 100 lights were used on the stage itself.
- It's a family affair.
Music City offers New Year’s Eve fun for the whole family. Nashville’s youngest revelers can celebrate earlier in the night with a raising of the Music Note.
- Confetti Cannons.
More than 20 pounds of confetti will rain down on the New Year's Eve crowd at midnight.
- Behind the Scenes.
More than 100 crew members work over the course of four days to construct the stage, sound, lights and video.
- Ring in the New Year with FIVE days of festivities!
Nashville provides four consecutive days of entertainment offerings for visitors. The festivities kick off Saturday, December 27, when the NHL Nashville Predators play the Philadelphia Flyers at Bridgestone Arena. On Sunday, December 28, the Titans play the Colts at LP Field. MusicFest and Battle of the Bands take over Lower Broadway on December 29. Visitors can enjoy this Music City Bowl pre-game event featuring bands from the participating ACC and SEC schools. The Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl follows on Tuesday, December 30, at 2pm at LP Field. The main event takes place on Wednesday, December 31: the Jack Daniel's Bash on Broadway free street party and concert.
- Light up the Night.
Pyrotechnics will be used for a special occasion as the Music Note is raised earlier in the night. The midnight fireworks show promises to be the biggest and best ever this year, as the sky will burst into colors from various locations downtown.
- In the News.
While the NYE 'Bash on Broadway' is only in its 6th year, it has already received national and international media coverage from the likes of Sherman's Travel, CNN, Quantas Travel Insider (Australia), Southwest Airlines blog, Bing.com, Southern Living, Huffington Post, Self magazine, and much more.
In 2013, Huffington Post named Nashville one of the world’s “Top Five Off-Peak Destinations for Winter 2013/2014” and highlighted the ‘Bash on Broadway’: "At the end of the year, Music City will play host to a budget-friendly but decidedly big-ticket New Year's Eve celebration on Lower Broadway featuring performances by artists such as Hank Williams Jr. and Blackberry Smoke. This totally free evening of live music will be capped with a celebratory Music Note Drop--a 15-foot-tall music note covered in lights will take the plunge at the stroke of midnight."
