The Nashville-based series "Music City Connection: Heroes Behind the Hits," which previously aired exclusively on XM Radio, will begin airing on Sirius XM Radio following the merger between the two satellite radio companies. The newly combined station is the second largest radio company in the country with more than 18 million subscribers and over 300 channels.
The popular series, produced by the Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau, presents songwriters of all genres during an informal "in-the-round" showcase performing their hits, revealing their influences, and sharing their personal stories of writing, recording and living in Music City. Nearly 40 shows have been recorded since the program began in 2006. Guests have included Sara Evans, Jeffrey Steele, Phil Vassar, Gabe Dixon, Chely Wright, Kirk Whalum and Tommy Sims among many others.
Creating and producing the monthly radio show allows the CVB to not only extend our brand message regarding the diversity of the music in Music City, but also reach a national audience of potential visitors.
