Over 11 million people visit Nashville each year. The Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau is giving residents a chance to find out why by reaching out to those local and regional residents who may be looking to maximize their budgets and enjoy their Music City.
The NCVB has created a special local promotion to encourage residents to be tourists in their own town, by offering a special discounted vacation package including hotel stay and Total Access Passes to residents of Davidson and surrounding counties throughout the months of June and July. Total Access Passes are also available separately at a discounted price of $40. Information regarding our local promotions is on our website at: http://www.visitmusiccity.com/visitors/mymusiccity
Over the last several months, the NCVB has also changed its advertising campaign from selling the Music City brand to a more value-driven message, selling special hotel rates and visitor packages. The CVB has also added more advertising focused regionally, hoping to attract visitors from nearby cities like Louisville, Lexington, Atlanta, Chattanooga, Memphis and Knoxville who may be looking to vacation closer to home this summer.
Nashville will once again offer locals and visitors a spectacular, free July 4th celebration at Riverfront Park including an exciting concert and one of the nation's best fireworks displays.
Performers for "Music City July 4th : Let Freedom Sing!" include Phil Vassar, Michael McDonald and the Grammy-winning Nashville Symphony Orchestra (NSO). The national anthem will be performed by the winner of the National Barbershop Quartet Convention, and there will be a special performance by Nashville actor Barry Scott during the show.
Downtown festivities will begin at noon with the free Family Fun Zone featuring inflatables for all ages, sponsored by Coca-Cola and Kroger. Pre-show live music will take place from 2 - 5:30 p.m. on the NowPlayingNashville.com stage. The official two-hour concert, presented by Ferguson Bath, Kitchen & Lighting Gallery, will kick off at 7 p.m. CST and will conclude with the South's largest fireworks show at approximately 9:25 p.m. arranged by Pyro Shows and choreographed to music by the NSO. The concert will be aired live on 103 WKDF and 104.5 The Zone. The fireworks and show highlights will air on News Channel 5 from 9 -10 p.m. All events are free and open to the public.

If you are looking for ways to have fun and stay cool this summer, check out our June Brand Champion! Nashville Shores has taken the Music City brand to new heights, literally. Standing more than 50 feet high and 350 feet long, the attraction's new Music City Racer is one of the largest slides of its type in the U.S. The new slide will send those who dare for a ride at speeds up to 35 mph. And, if its victims can't remember what city they're in when they reach the bottom, the slide's name should clear their fuzziness. Congratulations to our June Brand Champion, Nashville Shores. |
