USA TODAY Poll Shows Nashville One of Nation's Top Convention Cities
A recent USA TODAY Readers' Choice digital poll placed Nashville as the No. 3 Best Convention City in the country, behind only Indianapolis and Boston. The poll highlighted the downtown convention campus and its close proximity to attractions and entertainment: "Nashville's brand-spanking-new Music City Center, in the heart of downtown, is loaded for bear when it comes to amenities and extras. It's also connected to the new Omni hotel and the newly expanded Country Music Hall of Fame. A short stroll away are the honky-tonks of Broadway and unlimited free entertainment. Exciting city development plans have the convention center front and center, so amazingly, it only gets better. Nashville hosted more than 12.2 million visitors in 2013, resulting in more than $4.6 billion for the local economy."

"NASHVILLE: On the Record" airs Wednesday, April 23 (10:00 p.m. ET) on ABC. Among the songwriters appearing on the special are Trent Dabbs, Caitlyn Smith, Striking Matches (duo Sarah Zimmerman and Justin Davis), and Ashley Monroe. The series offers an intimate look into the songwriting process, from guitar demo to music video and all the steps in between.
