NCVB Now Accepting Entries for the 6th Annual Music City Songwriting Competition
The NCVB's sixth annual Music City Songwriting Competition is underway, with Little Big Town serving as the honorary ambassador. This year's competition is enhanced with additional partnerships and increased incentives resulting in more exposure for the competition and brand of Music City. Great American Country (GAC), FYE, Sirius XM, American Songwriter Magazine and American Songspace have been joined by new partners Southwest Airlines, Renaissance Nashville Hotel and Music City Radio to catapult the competition to the next level. The 2011 contest was the most successful to date with the highest number of entries and quality of the songs, improving the competition's validity, high standards and reputation. ABC's "Nashville" Picked Up for Full Season
ABC has picked up a full 22-episode season of the new Music City-based drama "Nashville," which airs locally Wednesdays at 9 p.m. Big Machine Records will release the show's first soundtrack album on December 11. "The Music of Nashville" will feature 11 of the show's most popular tunes, including "If I Didn't Know Better" and "Telescope." The NCVB is leveraging the national exposure through social media, advertising and promotions surrounding the show.
Music City New Year's Eve "Bash on Broadway"
A city that loves a good party, Nashville will once again throw one of the biggest New Year's Eve celebrations in the country with great live music and fireworks on Lower Broadway. The Fray, Sixpence None the Richer, Love and Theft, and Striking Matches will take the stage. Revelers attending Music City's "Bash on Broadway" will count down to midnight with the "Music Note Drop®", fireworks and confetti cannons. New this year, families will have an opportunity to mark the holiday with a raising of the music note, live music from internet sensations and "Nashville" stars Lennon and Maisy Stella, fireworks and discounted non-alcoholic beverages during a family hour sponsored by Twice Daily from 7 to 8 p.m. The FREE downtown street party starts at 7 p.m. on New Year's Eve. Renaissance Nashville Hotel
New sounds are coming from the Renaissance Nashville Hotel, which recently released volume two of its compilation series RStars. Designed to enhance the guest experience and illustrate the uniqueness of Music City, the album features original music from Renaissance employees, a few of which can be heard live at The Bridge Wednesday and Thursday evenings. RStars is not for sale, but is offered to Renaissance guests. For incorporating the Music City brand into its business, we name Renaissance Nashville Hotel Music City Brand Champion for the month of December.

The Average Daily Rate (ADR) for October 2012 was $113.28, an increase of 4.2%, compared to October 2011. The year-to-date ADR was $105.36, an increase of 4.2% from October 2011. The number of rooms sold for October 2012 was 558,632, an increase of 6.1% compared to October 2011. **
