NCVC Produces Documentary "For the Love of Music: The Story of Nashville"
From the 1800s when the Fisk Jubilee Singers travelled across continents to spread their music, to Cash, Eric Church and The Black Keys recording their hits - Nashville is a special place with a story to tell. The NCVC has produced the documentary "For the Love of Music: The Story of Nashville," the story of how Nashville became Music City, through the eyes of the musicians, songwriters, producers and artists who live and breathe the inspiration of this unique city. Artists who have contributed to the film include The Civil Wars, Marty Stuart, Kings of Leon, Fisk Jubilee Singers, Rivers Rutherford, Brett James, Tim Nichols, Duane Eddy, Charlie Daniels, Steve Cropper, Billy Cox, Emmylou Harris, Manuel, Damien Horne, Kellie Pickler, Bill Anderson, Peter Frampton, Ten Out Of Tenn members Gabe Dixon, Trent Dabbs and Amy Stroup, Tommy Sims, Ben Folds, Vince Gill, The Black Keys, Eric Church, Michael W. Smith, Kris Kristofferson, Martina McBride, John McBride, Jon Randall, Jessi Alexander, and Jeff the Brotherhood. Still considered a 'work in progress,' the film was shown during a sneak peek at the Nashville Film Festival on April 23. Once finished, it will be entered in other film festivals, and producers will explore the best resources for distribution. Watch the trailer.
Adventure Science Center Asks for Community Input
Adventure Science Center is asking all of Nashville for help imagining what a future version of the museum might look like. Thanks to a generous grant from The Frist Foundation, ASC is updating its Exhibit Master Plan as an extension of strategic planning and re-branding. The effort is aimed at increasing community impact and charting a course toward becoming a world-class science center. Part of the process includes gathering feedback from the local community. The public is encouraged to take the Community Vision survey at www.adventuresci.org/imaginesurvey or post favorite memories of the Science Center's exhibits and programs on its Facebook page at www.facebook.com/AdventureScienceCenter through April 30. The information developed in workshops and gathered independently through interviews and community input will be combined to develop a strategically focused and phased Master Plan that integrates the aspirations of the Science Center with the needs and desires of its visiting and participating communities.
