EARTH HOUR

REMEMBER TO TURN OFF THE LIGHTS FOR EARTH HOUR THIS SATURDAY!
Earth Hour 2009
Earth Hour is a global initiative of WWF (World Wildlife Fund) in which millions of people around the world will cast a vote in favor of action on climate change by turning off their lights for one hour on March 28, 2009, at 8:30 p.m. local time. By voting with their light switches, Earth Hour participants will send a powerful, visual message to their leaders demanding immediate action on climate change. Over 84 countries and territories across the globe have pledged their support. No matter what country you're from, join people from around the world to stand up and turn off.

For more information on Earth Hour, visit earthhour.org.

Nashville is one of the key U.S. cities participating. If you're in the Music City area this weekend, get out when the lights are out. Mayor Dean is joining WWF officials, other Nashville leaders and Jo De Messina at Sommet Center plaza for a free celebration concert at 7:30pm Saturday night. The city is honoring Earth Hour with other acoustic concerts and candlelit celebrations throughout town. Visit Nashville's Earth Hour page at earthhourus.org/nashville for details.
