ANNOUNCED

RIVERFRONT DEVELOPMENT
Mayor Karl Dean announced plans today for new park spaces along the riverfront in downtown Nashville. A 12-acre park, including an outdoor amphitheater, open spaces, trails, a garden, and dog park, will sit on the west bank of the Cumberland and a 4.5-acre park will sit on the east bank, increasing access to the Cumberland for river activities. Construction begins on the east bank this fall. Design on the west bank will also begin this fall. Read more from the Nashville Business Journal.

JOHNNY CASH MUSEUM PARTNERS WITH WSM
Through a partnership with 650 AM WSM, The Johnny Cash Museum will now receive live endorsements on Saturday broadcasts of the Opry on WSM beginning August 31st. Ticket holders from Saturday night's Opry performance can take their ticket stub to The Johnny Cash Museum to receive a $2 discount on admission. Read the full press release.

THE ROCKETTES RETURN TO OPRYLAND
The 2013 Radio City Christmas Spectacular, starring the Rockettes, will return to Nashville with "Christmas Dreams" as part of Gaylord Opryland's A Country Christmas celebration. The show will take place at the Grand Ole Opry House November 16-December 24. Read the full press release.

JOHN MERRITT CLASSIC WEEKEND
The annual John Merritt Classic is this weekend, August 29-September 1. Festivities include a mixer, an old school concert, tailgate parties, band showcases, and more. FRIST FRIDAYS - FINAL SHOW OF THE SEASON
The last concert of the season's Frist Fridays performances is this Friday, August 30. Drivin' N' Cryin' will perform. From 6pm to 9pm, the public is invited to enjoy live music, light snacks and beverages at the courtyard of the Frist Center for the Visual Arts. GRAND MASTER FIDDLER CHAMPIONSHIP
