MAYOR KARL DEAN: E.W. "BUD" WENDELL AWARD
Nashville Mayor Karl Dean was awarded the inaugural E.W. "Bud" Wendell Award at the annual National Travel & Tourism Week Hospitality Industry Luncheon last week. The new award, named after former president and CEO of Gaylord Entertainment, recognizes an individual not directly affiliated with the hospitality industry who has contributed above and beyond to the overall success of tourism and convention business in Nashville. "FOR THE LOVE OF MUSIC" GOLD PENCIL AWARD
The Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp and VML were awarded a Gold Pencil for the documentary, "For the Love of Music: The Story of Nashville" at the 41st Annual One Show Awards, in the Branded Entertainment discipline, which included 69 finalists from 45 agencies in 15 countries. NASHVILLE MUSIC FILLS THE GMA SUMMER CONCERT SERIES
ABC's "Good Morning America" does an annual Summer Concert Series. They've released the lineup and 7 of the 15 acts are from Nashville! The Music City Food + Wine Festival (formerly Music City Eats) has announced the chef lineup. Celebrity chefs include Jonathan Waxman, Tim Love, Tyler Florence, Masaharu Morimoto, Aaron Sanchez, Michael Symon, Trisha Yearwood, and Andrew Zimmern.
