MARKETFEST CELEBRATES THE “HIPSTORIC” WEST NASHVILLE NEIGHBORHOODS & OPENING DAY OF RICHLAND PARK FARMER’S MARKET
Community Event Launches This Spring With Festival Of Local Artisans, Food Makers, And Musicians
NASHVILLE, TENN.; FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – On Saturday, May 21 the Sylvan Park Neighborhood Association invites Nashville to Richland Park MarketFest, marking opening day of the newly revived Richland Park Farmer’s Market and celebrating the hipstoric West Nashville Neighborhoods. The festival juxtaposes historic West Nashville with the hip community of new Nashvillians that increasingly call it home. The event will feature over 50 farm, food, and artisan vendors, all day live music and dance performances, kids’ activities, the Sylvan Park Neighborhood Yard Sale, and Friends of the Library Book Sale.
“We’re excited to welcome Hank Delvin and Delvin Farms back to Richland Park as the Manager of the Richland Park Farmer’s Market with the launch of MarketFest,” said MarketFest founder Lari White. “West Nashville is ready for its first annual event that brings the community together while celebrating fresh, local produce and creative makers of all kinds.”
The festival kicks off with vendors such as Delvin Farms, Bugtussle Farms, Sugar Camp Farm, Green Door Gourmet, Kelly’s Berries, Bang! Candy, The Creole Diva, Papa C Pies and Urban N Farm and Apothecary. Throughout the day, live music and dance will take the stage with performances by William Tyler Band, Matt Rollings & the West Nash Jam, Rocky Block Band, Glencliff Mariachis, and Global Education Center Music and Dance. Kids are welcome to join in on the day of fun as well, from 10:00 a.m. to noon there will be activities for kiddos 4-14 featuring Old Fashioned Field Day with the McCabe Community Center Staff, Storytime with the Richland Park Library Staff, Charlotte’s Garden Experience with Todd Breyer and a performance by Mr. Steve at 10:00 a.m. The Friends of the Library will host a book sale and the Sylvan Park Neighborhood Association will host a community Yard Sale – more details to follow.
