New 'Yoga Under the Stars' program at Adventure Science Center's Sudekum Planetarium
May the “Zen” be with you at first yoga session on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 9 a.m.
Nashville, Tenn., Jan. 23, 2017—Stunning NASA visualizations, 6.5 million stars, and inner peace await in Adventure Science Center’s new Yoga Under the Stars program in the Sudekum Planetarium.
While normal yoga practices focus on finding inner peace, Yoga Under the Stars brings an outward shift to the experience. The stunning visuals displayed on Sudekum’s magnificent 63-foot dome inspire thought on the scale of the universe and humanity’s place within it. The darkness combined with a 360-degree view of the stars can disorient some viewers making achieving balance an even more challenging activity. The added difficulty makes this yoga practice perfect for intermediate yogis looking for a new experience.
Each session will begin with breath work, continue with positions to elevate the heart, and end in savasana to relax the body and the mind. Yoga Under the Stars is not a restorative yoga practice.
Tickets are available at www.adventuresci.org/yoga.
WHEN: Saturday, Jan. 28, at 9 a.m.
DURATION: 75 minutes
