TPAC Announces Media Partnership with NewsChannel 5 to Promote Broadway Season
NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Performing Arts Center announces a media partnership with the NewsChannel 5 Network in which the Emmy Award-winning network will serve as television sponsor for the 2014-15 HCA/TriStar Health Broadway at TPAC season.
The partnership is the latest development in a relationship that goes back to the creation of the not-for-profit performing arts center. Through this collaboration, TPAC and the network will work together to promote the annual Broadway season and to communicate the importance and impact of the performing arts.
"We are thrilled to be working so closely with NewsChannel 5 as our Broadway television sponsor,” said Kathleen O’Brien, TPAC’s president and chief executive officer. “We have been working with them for many years, and they have always been supportive and engaged. We appreciate all that the station has to offer, including a wonderful and loyal viewership that embraces arts and entertainment and also appreciates our work in arts education."
The NewsChannel 5 Network has received several DuPont-Columbia University Awards, three Peabody Awards, and a national Emmy Award. Also, the station was recognized with 12 MidSouth Emmy Awards in January 2014. The network is one of the top CBS affiliates in the country and airs the annual Tony Awards ceremony.
"I couldn't be more pleased about this new partnership," said Deborah Turner, president and general manager for the NewsChannel 5 Network. "TPAC is the cultural heart of our community and brings so much joy to all of us through the performing arts and education. We are looking forward to spreading the word about all their good work well into the future."
