NCVC Names New Members to Board of Directors for FY 15-16
NASHVILLE - The Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp (NCVC) today announced three new additions to its board of directors: Jana Davis, senior vice president of Corporate Affairs of HCA, Stuart McWhorter, president and CEO of the Nashville Entrepreneur Center, and Dan Piotrowski, general manager of Omni Nashville Hotel.
Ken Levitan, president of Vector Management, will continue to serve as chairman of the NCVC board of directors for the 2015-16 fiscal year. Beth Seigenthaler Courtney, chairman and CEO of Seigenthaler Public Relations, will serve as chair-elect.
“With 54 months of record growth, Nashville’s hospitality industry is performing better than it ever has. Our board’s focus is on sustaining the success long-term,” said Ken Levitan. “I look forward to working with existing and new board members during this historic time for the industry.”
Jana Davis joined HCA in 1997 as Vice President of Corporate Communications and Marketing, a position she held until her recent appointment in February 2011. She joined HCA from Burson-Marsteller, where she was a Managing Director for Crisis and served as Corporate Practice Chair for Latin American operations. Davis also held a number of Public Affairs positions in the George H.W. Bush and Reagan Administrations. Davis is a member of a number of professional organizations, including chair of the Public Relations Committee for the Federation of American Hospitals, the D.C. Bar and N.C. Bar. She currently serves on the boards of several non-profit organizations including the Board of Directors of the HCA Foundation, The HCA Hope Fund, Cheekwood Botanical Garden and Museum of Art, The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, The Development Council of the Frist Center for the Visual Arts, The Nashville Symphony and Teach for America.
As Co-Founder, Stuart McWhorter served as Chairman and President of Clayton Associates prior to his appointment as CEO of the Nashville Entrepreneur Center. Prior to Clayton Associates, McWhorter was part of the founding management team of OrthoLink Physicians Corporation and served in various management positions with Tenet Healthcare-owned Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham, AL. McWhorter also serves on the board of directors for FirstBank of Tennessee, 247 Sports Media, Haven Behavioral Healthcare, MedEquities Healthcare REIT, JumpStart Foundry, and Lee Company. McWhorter’s civic duties include serving on various past and present boards including: Belmont University, Clemson University Foundation, Tennessee Business Roundtable, Blood Water Mission, YMCA of Middle Tennessee, Nashville Public Education Foundation, Hospital Hospitality House, St. Luke’s Community Center, The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, and Nashville’s Agenda.
A veteran of Omni Hotels & Resorts for over a decade, Dan Piotrowski joined the opening team of the Omni Nashville Hotel in 2012 after serving as general manager at a multitude of Omni properties including the Omni Fort Worth Hotel, Omni Berkshire Hotel in New York, and the Omni Los Angeles Hotel. In 2006 and 2011 he was named Omni Hotels & Resorts General Manager of the Year. Prior to Omni Hotels & Resorts, Piotrowski was hotel manager at the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows in Puako, Hawaii, and spent 15 years with Hyatt Hotels. He currently serves on the board of the directors for the Nashville Downtown Partnership, the Metropolitan Nashville Event & Marketing Fund, and the Middle Tennessee chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
