M.L.ROSE CRAFT BEER & BURGERS NOW OPEN IN WEST NASHVILLE
Neighborhood Pub Pays Tribute to
its Buildings Past; Adds to the Growing Gentrification Movement on
NASHVILLE, TENN. (November 5, 2012) –After much anticipation, the second location of M.L.Rose Craft Beer & Burgers is now open at 4408 Charlotte Avenue.
The West Side location, housed in the old Lavender Motors building, features a rough-cut hardwood façade and a large patio area, complete with an old Studebaker truck in the front courtyard. Inside, the 4,400 square feet of space offers deep booths, tables, and bar seating for nearly 200 patrons.
The space exudes personality by thoughtful décor such as old beer crates stacked up to cover the new beer cooler and a new garage door in the space where the previous garage door once was. A back wall features playful vignettes of mechanical chess illusion The Turk, popular in the late 18th century, painted by local muralist Julia Martin. The bar top is made of multi-colored Nicaraguan wood imported by owner Austin Ray’s Nashville native comrade Aram Terry.
M.L.Rose has incorporated fun, funky design elements throughout that pay homage to its automotive roots. A large muffler chandelier and hubcap sculptures adorn the inside of the space as a subtle reminder of the buildings previous lives.
“This location will still have the core offerings that make M.L.Rose great – expansive beer options, seriously good food, and plenty of televisions for games and sporting events,” said owner Austin Ray. “But I’m really excited to see how the neighborhood puts it stamp on it and shapes it the way they did at Franklin Road. It’s sure to be a unique feel for each location.”
Neighborhoods such as Sylvan Park and Historic West Town are sure to benefit from the addition of M.L.Rose to the landscape. Recent developments in the Charlotte Avenue area of town include a second location of Nuevo Burrito, the opening of new coffeehouse Headquarters, The Stone Fox, and famous Jacks Bar-B-Que at the intersection of Charlotte and 16th. The area continues to offer affordable living, working, and entertaining options, making for a viable and lively community.
M.L.Rose will offer the same laid-back vibe as its fellow Franklin Road counterpart, but will have more seating, larger patio spaces, and even more beer selections with 30 craft beers on tap and a rotating seasonal menu. The food menu features the pub’s famous, made-to-order signature burgers made with all-natural, antibiotic-and-hormone-free beef. Customer favorites, such as the Bleu Cheeseburger and the Super BLT with Avocado & Cheddar, will also be found at both M.L.Rose locations.
M.L.Rose will also offer brunch on Saturday and Sunday starting at 10 a.m. Popular brunch menu items include the Good Morning Burger with a sunny side up egg and a section of Hash Stack varieties. Bloody Mary’s and mimosas are always a favorite beverage choice.
The West Side M.L.Rose is located at 4408 Charlotte Avenue and will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. (21+ after 5 p.m.) and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m., offering brunch on those days. The kitchen closes at 1 a.m. For more information, visit ml-rose.com.
