Nashville’s July 4 Fireworks to be Livestreamed, Broadcast Live on Local TV
Livestreaming to Include Five Hours of Music
NASHVILLE – The city’s annual July 4 concert and fireworks display will be livestreamed on visitmusiccity.com/july4th, the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp announced today. Additionally, for the first time in several years, the fireworks display will be broadcast live on local television through a partnership with WKRN-News 2.
The livestream will start at 5 p.m. and include five hours of live music, including the fireworks display. At 9 p.m., News 2 will begin broadcasting the music from Ascend Amphitheater commercial free to bring viewers a portion of headliner Sheryl Crow’s performance, along with the GRAMMY-winning Nashville Symphony Orchestra performing live music synchronized to the 30-minute fireworks display.
“For years, the biggest request has been to broadcast the fireworks show locally on TV,” said Ken Levitan, board chair of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp and co-president of Vector Management. “We’ve been working on this, and we are extremely pleased to partner with News 2 this year so that Nashvillians who can’t make it downtown can still enjoy the spectacular fireworks show synchronized to the music of the GRAMMY-winning Nashville Symphony.”
Let Freedom Sing! July 4 in Music City presented by Dr Pepper includes two days of festivities, three stages, 15 live music acts and the largest fireworks show in the country – all free and open to the public at a new location at Ascend Amphitheater and The Green at Riverfront Park. Nine-time GRAMMY-winner Sheryl Crow will headline on July 4, which will also include the McDonald’s® Family Fun Zone with live music and inflatables on and around the Bridgestone Arena Plaza. July 3 festivities will include live music headlined by GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter Brandy Clark and a five-minute fireworks show.
“We’re very excited to be televising a portion of this year’s celebration for the community,” said Steve Watt, GM of WKRN. “There are many people who would love to experience the Nashville fireworks show but can’t make it downtown for various reasons. News 2 is thrilled to be able to bring the show into their family rooms instead.”
The News 2 team providing live coverage throughout July 4 include Bob Mueller, Samantha Fisher, Dawn Davenport, Eric Egan and new meteorologist Danielle Breezy.
