Job Seekers Invited to Attend City’s First Hospitality Industry Job Fair on March 23 at Music City Center
Hundreds of Jobs Available at Nashville-Area Hotels, Restaurants, Venues and Attractions
NASHVILLE – Job seekers are invited to attend a hospitality industry job fair on March 23, the first time the city has brought together employers in the tourism and convention sectors for a hiring event. The job fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Davidson Ballroom of the Music City Center. It is free and open to the public.
Nearly 50 employers have registered to attend, including several of the city’s major hotels, attractions, transportation companies and restaurants. (See list below.) Employers will be looking for workers from entry level to management to executive level.
“Nashville’s hospitality industry is booming with no signs of letting up, and a skilled workforce is key to continuing the momentum” said Dan Piotrowski, general manager of the Omni Nashville Hotel and co-chair of a new Hospitality Workforce Advisory Council.
Greg Adkins, president and CEO of the Greater Nashville Hospitality Association, also co-chairs the council. “We know there are hundreds of positions available, and we look forward to meeting job applicants interested in becoming a part of the city’s most vibrant industry,” Adkins said.
The industry employs almost 58,000 people in Davidson County. Hospitality is Nashville’s second-largest industry with annual visitor spending generating $5.42 billion, nearly one-third of all visitor spending in the state. Last year, 13.5 million visitors came to Music City.
Nashville has experienced 62 consecutive months of year-over-year growth in hotel rooms sold and hotel taxes collected. The hospitality industry is expected to continue to grow with new restaurants and several new hotels opening in the coming months. More than 3,000 hotel rooms are expected to open in the next 24 months, placing even more pressure on the need for workers.
Several parking and transportation options are available to job fair attendees. Parking will be available in the Music City Center parking garages, P1 and P2, which are accessible via Sixth Avenue from Demonbreun Street or Korean Veterans Boulevard. Parking is $7 for up to four hours. Ride-share service, Lyft, will be offering a discount to job fair attendees. Also, MTA buses and the free Music City Circuit Green line go to Music City Center, and several nearby parking lots can be found at www.parkitdowntown.com.

The initiative includes a new jobs board at www.visitmusiccity.com/hospitalityworks, where employers can post jobs and job candidates can submit profiles.
