Earth Day, Nashville Spring Clean, Comcast Cares Day events to converge
Volunteers to help beautify Adventure Science Center while guests explore environmental and conservation science
Nashville, Tenn., April 11, 2017—From volunteers helping to beautify the picnic area to guests learning about gardening and pollinators, Adventure Science Center will be abuzz with activity this Earth Day.
Comcast has teamed up with Mayor Megan Barry and Nashville Public Works for the second annual Nashville Spring Clean on Saturday, April 22. As one of ten designated Comcast Cares Day project sites around Davidson County, Adventure Science Center will have volunteers helping clean up the streets and alleys, beautify the picnic table area with fresh coats of paint, and rejuvenate the landscaping around the building with fresh mulch from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
“Being selected as a designated Comcast Cares Day location for Mayor Barry’s Spring Clean is an enormous honor,” said Tina Brown, Adventure Science Center’s Interim CEO. “As a nonprofit, we appreciate being chosen to participate in this city-wide effort to keep our neighborhood clean and beautiful. What makes this volunteer assistance even greater is that it allows us to apply our resources where they are most beneficial – in providing our services.”
People interested in helping with the projects at Adventure Science Center can find the link to register as a volunteer at www.adventuresci.org/calendar/entry/springclean.
While volunteers are hard-at-work outside, Adventure Science Center’s Educators will be opening minds to environmental, conservation and botanical science education through fascinating hands-on activities and demonstrations.
