Downtown Nashville’s First Urban Winery Offering Cocktail Class, Summer Movie Series, Wine Classes and More
Summer Winemaking’s Class Series: Flaws and Faults in Wine (August 3) – Swirl, sniff and sip as City Winery Production Winemaker Bill Anton and Assistant Winemaker Laura Cypress guide participants through everything from the basics of winemaking to advanced winemaking during this interactive wine course on Wednesday, August 3, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The third and final class of the series will provide a deeper understanding on how to detect a faulted wine. Tickets are $45 and include wine tastings, light cheese and charcuterie. The course is held in the winery, which is at cellar temperature—please dress in layers. Learn more and purchase tickets here.
Summer Movie Series: Music Biopics Night (August 3) – Join City Winery for a summertime dinner and a movie series, benefitting City Winery neighbor, the Nashville Rescue Mission. Guests can expect back-to-back airings (attend one showing or both) of “Coat of Many Colors” at 6:00 p.m. and “Coal Miner’s Daughter” at 8:00 p.m., along with dinner and drink service, including a double-stack burger, house-made American cheese, "special sauce” and house-cut beer battered onion rings. Drink specials will feature a $5 Sparkling Cocktail & $3 PBR Tallboys. Tickets are $5.00 and can be purchased here. A portion of proceeds will go to the Nashville Rescue Mission and donations of bottles of water will be accepted onsite.
Wines of the World Tasting (August 5-21) – City Winery will be offering guests of the urban winery, restaurant and music venue the chance to sample wines from around the world during the 2016 summer games as part of the Wines of the World Tasting, August 5-21. The tasting list—curated by City Winery Beverage Director Todd Johnston from City Winery’s award-winning bottle list with nearly 500 labels from 15 different countries around the world—will feature bottles from many of the countries participating in the 2016 games, each available at a special 10 percent off.
R&B Brunch (August 6) – Join City Winery at noon on Saturday, August 6, for an afternoon of food, music, drinks and fun at another R&B Brunch. Tickets are $35 and include access to a buffet brunch and live music from Will Davenport and his band in the urban winery’s music venue. Drinks will be available a la carte from your server. Classic Cocktails (August 10) – If America can claim one thing as its own in the world of alcoholic beverages, it's the cocktail. Join City Winery on Wednesday, August 10, beginning at 7:00 p.m. for a night of cocktail classics and mixing, shaking, jiggering, and drinking. Attendees will learn the history of the cocktail, selected base spirits, as well as recipes for such classics as the Manhattan, Old Fashioned (no muddling involved!), Mojito, Aviation, Martinez and more. Rediscover a drinking culture of a by-gone era and be part of its reemergence. Each guest will enjoy a welcome cocktail, taste samples of impactful classic cocktails prepared by City Winery Wine Director Todd Johnston and have the opportunity to craft a classic cocktail by recipe. Most importantly, guests will go home with the ability to throw the best cocktail parties in town. Tickets are $45 and include a light selection of cheese and charcuterie with bread.
