Musicians Corner Will Present “The Last Waltz: A 40th Anniversary Tribute To Bob Dylan and The Band” at City Winery on Thursday, November 17
Musicians Corner, a program of The Conservancy for the Parthenon and Centennial Park, will celebrate the 40th anniversary of The Last Waltz and honor the music of The Band and recent Nobel Prize winner Bob Dylan on Thursday, November 17 at City Winery.
Atlanta tribute band The Last Waltz Ensemble will perform, along with several special guests including Grant Lee Phillips, Sarah Potenza, Christian Lopez and Black Diamond, with additional guests to be announced.
Last year’s sold out Last Waltz tribute at City Winery also featured the Last Waltz Ensemble, with standout performances from The Secret Sisters, Carolina Story and Daniel Ellsworth. This year’s concert follows Musicians Corner’s recent 75th Birthday tribute to Paul Simon, and its Band Together 1989 tribute to Taylor Swift in February.
Tickets are $25 and $35 and can be purchased here. All proceeds underwrite Musicians Corner’s free music events in Centennial Park.
The Last Waltz was held on Thanksgiving Day, 1976, an is known for iconic performances from The Band, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Neil Diamond, Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters, Dr. John and Ronnie Hawkins. The resulting film from Martin Scorsese is hailed as one of the greatest concert movies ever made.
