MUSIC CITY HOT WING FESTIVAL RETURNS AUGUST 6 TO CUMBERLAND PARK IN DOWNTOWN NASHVILLE
Festival Announces Entertainment Lineup with Headliner Dirty Dozen Brass Band
Nashville, Tenn. – July 21, 2016 – On August 6 from 12p.m.-8 p.m., Nashville’s Cumberland Park will host the seventh annual Music City Hot Wing Festival. The festival announced today the entertainment lineup that will feature headliners the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Music City Toppers, AJ & The Jiggawatts and The Gripsweats with special guests Funky Good Time. A portion of proceeds from the event will benefit The Bootstraps Foundation, which offers college scholarships for youth in Middle Tennessee who persevere in the face of adversity.
Local hot wing and grilling enthusiasts will showcase their skills for a shot at bragging rights and a $2,500 cash prize for first place and $750 cash prize for the People’s Choice Award. The competition will be judged by the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS)-certified judges. The festival will also honor one competitor with the inaugural “Green Team Award,” presented and judged by Urban Green Lab to support efforts to build a more sustainable festival experience. The winner will take home a $500 cash prize and Urban Green Lab’s innovative, mobile classroom will be onsite educating festival goers on sustainability practices.
Attendees will have the chance to sample numerous styles of chicken wings ranging in various temperatures and stave off the heat with a variety of beers from New Heights Brewing Company and wine from Barefoot. Live music and activities will be available throughout the day rounding out the family-friendly event.

Advance tickets are $15 for general admission festival and concert access and $40 for an “All the Wings” ticket that provides unlimited wings. A “VIP Wing Pass” is also available and includes all you can eat wings, express line pass, VIP bar, complimentary beer and wine, private restrooms and access to a shaded, air-conditioned VIP Tent. Entry to the festival is free for children 12 and under.
