· Toast to the NOON Year – Enjoy a bubbly toast to the New Year with your family until 1:30 p.m.
Among the current exhibits at the Science Center is the annual All Aboard for Trains!, showcasing some of the area’s finest working model railroads. Visitors can control moving elements of the displays as the trains travel through miniature landscapes. And younger children won’t want to miss Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends.
Also included with general admission is the Megalodon: Largest Shark that Ever Lived temporary exhibit. Dive into the remarkable story of this massive creature and explore the evolution, biology and misconceptions of giant prehistoric sharks. The exhibit showcases both fossil and modern shark specimens and full-scale models from several collections.
Adventure Science Center provides an interactive environment where both young and old can engage in fun, educational activities: climb to the top of the 75-foot Adventure Tower and view the Nashville skyline; pilot a full-motion flight simulator; explore the complex systems inside the human body; or travel across the solar system in the massive Space Chase exhibition.
Located at 800 Fort Negley Boulevard in Nashville, the Center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (except Christmas Day). Admission is $14 for adults; $11 for children ages 2 to 12, $13 for seniors 65+; and free for members and certified Tennessee teachers (with valid school ID).
