O-Ku to Serve Authentic Asian Cuisine in Germantown
The Indigo Road Hospitality Group looks forward to fall opening for sushi concept
Nashville, TN (March 1, 2018) - With more than seven years of success in Charleston, celebrated Atlanta and Charlotte openings in 2015 and 2016, and a loyal following, O-Ku is expanding to Nashville with an opening in Germantown this fall. Named a "Top 20 Best New Restaurant" by Esquire magazine in 2010, and a "Best Sushi Restaurant in the U.S." by Travel + Leisure in 2013, O-Ku celebrates Asian cuisine with a southern approach and a menu that focuses on unique ingredients and sophisticated presentations. This is the second restaurant that The Indigo Road Hospitality Group has brought to Nashville, with Oak Steakhouse opening its doors in June 2017.
"We were welcomed with open arms last year with the opening of Oak Steakhouse Nashville in downtown and are looking forward to sharing our sushi concept with music city," said Steve Palmer, managing partner of The Indigo Road Hospitality Group. "After seeking out locations in Nashville for years, we are confident that O-Ku belongs in Germantown. It's the perfect neighborhood for our concept and we're looking forward to expanding our presence in Nashville's dynamic food scene."
Guests can anticipate a unique blend of elevated sushi, sashimi and nigiri options, hot entrees and other traditional dishes that celebrate innovative Asian cuisine. O-Ku managing partner Kimball Brienza will work with Palmer to recruit local talent to the Nashville team to complete the food and beverage program.
On March 8 and 9, Brienza and his team are traveling to Nashville to give music city a taste of what O-Ku will be offering at their Germantown location, with a special pop-up dinner at Caviar & Bananas. O-Ku will take over Caviar & Bananas' small plates menu from 5 - 9 p.m. both nights, featuring sake pairings from Proper Sake Co. The menu will be a la carte, designed for sharing, and will feature some of O-Ku's specialty menu items, including O-Ku Rock Shrimp and the Salmon Lemon Roll, with suggested pairings including sake and sake-based cocktails. No reservations are required - this is a first come, first serve event.
O-Ku, an Indigo Road Hospitality Group concept, features authentic Asian cuisine emphasizing unique ingredients and upscale preparation. Originally conceptualized in Charleston by Steve Palmer, veteran restaurateur and managing partner of the Indigo Road Hospitality Group, O-Ku features rare and unique seafood from the finest fish markets in Tokyo and Hawaii alongside locally sourced ingredients.
