Journey through sound at Adventure Science Center’s third annual MAD Bash fundraiser
Explore the science of sound with fire, electricity, technology during signature fundraiser featuring cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and more
Nashville, Tenn., Feb. 21, 2017—Sound is everywhere. Stroll down Lower Broadway in the heart of Music City and that fact is inescapable, but where’s the science? Look no further than Adventure Science Center’s third annual MAD Bash signature fundraiser, presented by Lexus of Cool Springs and Lexus of Nashville, on Saturday, March 10.
From 6:30 to 10:30 p.m., guests can use their minds, bodies and senses to journey through the science of sound while exploring the science center their family knows and loves like never before. Leave the kids at home for this unique after-hours party, where adults can let their inner scientists come out and play while supporting the science center’s incredible, interactive exhibitions and innovative educational programming. Co-chaired by Rankin McGugin and Sara Perry, the night will feature live science demonstrations that bring sound to life with flames and electricity, and even recycled objects transformed into musical instruments using technology.
MAD Bash guests will be the first to make a buzz about Adventure Science Center’s newest Virtual Reality module – Planet Pollinator – and the first to see three new stunning artistic displays of mathematical fractals set to original music in Fantastic Fractals!, in the Sudekum Planetarium. The event will also feature a lively dance floor and music, a curated silent auction and live auction, and, of course, delicious food and playfully scientific cocktails.
In addition to all the fun that night, Chemical and Nuclear-level patrons will have the chance to bring their kids in on the fun. For the first time ever, Adventure Science Center is offering patrons of the Chemical and Nuclear ticket level a Patrons’ Party for kids from 9:30- 11:30 a.m. the morning of the event. Co-hosted by Vanderbilt Programs for Talented Youth, this awesome patron benefit will allow kids to have exclusive time to explore the science center, exciting hands-on science activities and crafts, and a the first dance party of the day!
