Nashville July 4th Celebration to Have the Largest Fireworks Show in the Country
NASHVILLE - Music City July 4th: Let Freedom Sing! will feature more firework shells than any other fireworks display in the country, the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp (NCVC) announced today. The fireworks show will be synchronized to live music performed by the GRAMMY®-winning Nashville Symphony.
"The event garners more and more international media attention each year and is now a massive, multi-day celebration where thousands travel to enjoy free music and the best fireworks in the country," said Butch Spyridon, president and CEO of the NCVC. "July 4th falls on a Saturday this year, giving us the chance to leverage our past success and create maximum return for the city. With the U.S. men's soccer match on Friday, two days of great performances, family activities and the largest fireworks show in the country, we estimate it to be a huge weekend for Nashville."
Event goers will be treated to two days of free live music and festivities. Prior to the fireworks, the July 4th musical line-up will feature GRAMMY®-nominated artist Mikky Ekko and headliner Martina McBride, four-time CMA Female Vocalist of the Year. On July 3rd, Southern rockers The Weeks will headline "A Prelude to the 4th", which will also feature local recording artist Gabe Dixon, Elise Davis and DJ DU.
Last year's massive fireworks display, which included more than 35,000 shells and ran for 27 minutes, was rated the No. 2 must-see event in the country by the American Pyrotechnics Association. Huffington Post listed Music City’s July 4th celebration as one of the "5 Most Insane Festivals in July Around the World." The event drew a record crowd of 284,000 people in the downtown area sold more 22,000 hotel rooms throughout the entire city, according to STR, Inc.
