NCVC Unveils First Centralized Website for Hospitality Industry Jobs
Job Seekers Can Also Post Candidate Profiles on Site
NASHVILLE – The city’s first centralized website that links employers in the hospitality industry with job seekers was unveiled today by the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp (NCVC) as part of a new workforce initiative called Hospitality Works. The website is visitmusiccity.com/hospitalityworks.
“With the exceptional growth in Nashville’s hospitality industry, there are hundreds of employers seeking energetic, enthusiastic people to help serve visitors daily, and there are just as many job seekers who want to be a part of this vibrant time in the city,” said Ken Levitan, board chair of the NCVC and co-president of Vector Management. “We are proud to launch this website to ensure our hospitality workforce keeps up with the labor demands of our sustained performance as a top global destination.”
Nashville has been on a record 60-month streak of year-over-year growth of hotel rooms sold and hotel taxes collected – the only Top 50 destination city in the country to achieve that level of sustained success. The record growth in the industry has made workforce development a priority for industry leaders.
Last year, the NCVC brought together community and government leaders as part of its strategic planning process, and workforce development emerged as a top issue. In addition to job listings, educational outreach and a hospitality jobs fair were identified as priorities. In March, Hospitality Works will host a jobs fair at the Music City Center with more details will be announced in the coming weeks.
The central feature of the jobs board is individual jobs listings in Nashville’s hospitality industry. Other features of the Hospitality Works website include the following:
· Large employers with many positions to fill have the option to purchase placement as a featured employer that allows job seekers to link directly to a company’s human resources website.
· Job seekers can post information about their job history and the types of positions they are seeking, which is shared with potential employers.
Hospitality Works is a partnership between the NCVC and the Greater Nashville Hospitality Association (GNHA).
