People come to Nashville for the music. Always have. Always will. Music speaks to our souls and, here in Music City, there's a lot of talking going on. From small intimate clubs on Lower Broad and the world-famous Grand Ole Opry to a world-class symphony hall and songwriter nights at dozens of locations, you can experience music firsthand in more than 100 live venues. Just remember: the person sitting next to you might have just written a new hit song. You never know. And that's just part of the magic of a visit to Music City.
You can't leave Nashville without a visit to Lower Broad, a.k.a. “Honky Tonk Highway.” Between Fourth and Fifth Avenues on Broadway, you'll find wild, packed clubs that play music from 10am-3am and never have a cover charge. You can spend a whole evening here just hopping from one bar to the next. But don't stop there. Music Calls Us Home for a reason. You can find every genre of music from bluegrass or rock to country or gospel every night of the week all over town. Green Hills, Music Valley, East Nashville, The Gulch, Midtown - playing every night.

Looking for something else? Nashville has a lot of entertainment options. Take a break at a sports pub, browse local art at galleries, shoot some billiards at a pool hall, converse with colleagues at a local brewery or just walk around downtown for some great people-watching.
Take in some local Music City creations on Saturday, October 4. Nashville has a thriving arts scene, with new art galleries and new music popping up all the time. Head downtown to the Schermerhorn Symphony Center and enjoy a Free Day of Music. The symphony hall will open its doors to the public to share the beautiful intricacies of design inside and outside this timeless structure. Enjoy music from local acts throughout the building. That night, head across Broadway and over to the Arcade for the First Saturday Art Crawl. Stroll through multiple art galleries that open their doors to welcome visitors and show their wares from local artists. The event is free and open to the public. But, of course, you're always welcome to pick up a piece of local art to bring back home as a memento of your visit to Music City.
Take a look at the Events Calendar for assistance in planning your free time and experience the real Music City.
