Hilton Garden Inn Nashville Downtown/Convention Center

Hilton Garden Inn Nashville Downtown/Convention Center opened June 2015 and is located in the heart of downtown Nashville within walking distance of the Music City Center. The 11-story, 214-room hotel capitalizes on its location by focusing on its panoramic views. The hotel features five meeting rooms and more than 4,200 square feet of flexible meeting space, along with high-end amenities including complimentary WiFi, 24-hour business center, a state-of-the-art fitness center, rooftop pool with a deck and bar, three onsite restaurants, and a floating staircase.
Residence Inn Nashville Vanderbilt/West End

The Residence Inn by Marriott opened February 2015 and offers a tech-savvy studio, one- and two-bedroom suites with separate living and sleeping areas. With a fully equipped kitchen and complimentary grocery delivery service, you can enjoy home-cooked meals in your suite or free hot breakfast in the hotel’s lobby. Downtown shuttle service and a state-of-the-art fitness center are also offered.
SpringHill Suites Nashville Vanderbilt/West End

The all-suite hotel near Nashville’s Music Row offers 103-spacious suites. SpringsHill Suites opened January 2015 and offers complimentary breakfast and a vibrant lobby with flexible spaces perfect for working. SpringHill Suites is adjoined to Residence Inn Nashville Vanderbilt/West End.
New Future Hotel Developments
21c Museum Hotel
222 3rd Avenue North
21c Museum Hotel, a boutique hotel company and restaurant group, has begun construction on downtown’s historic 222 Building. The 1890s era building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and will continue to help bring revitalization through contemporary art to the downtown core. The 115-room luxury hotel is projected to open in March 2017.
118 8th Avenue South
Located near the Music City Center, ground has broken on the Cambria Suites—a full-service hotel, complete with 262 rooms. It is slated to open in December 2017.
Candlewood Suites MetroCenter
French Landing Drive & Venture Circle
Candlewood Suites MetroCenter will be a limited service 101-room hotel. They aim to be open by January of 2017.
4th Avenue North (Printer’s Alley)
The six-story, 170-room Dream Nashville Hotel is planned for Printer’s Alley and is projected to open May 2018. The building was formerly a hotel in 1891 and developers plan on preserving and incorporating the original trim and mold, ornate overhead light fixtures, and rare Tennessee pink marble into the hotel design. The hotel will embrace the past and revitalize the area with new options for locals, business travelers, and tourists to enjoy.
Fairfield Inn & Suites MetroCenter
100 French Landing Drive
A four-story, 80-room Fairfield Inn & Suites is being constructed in Metro Center. The limited service hotel is slated to open by late 2016.
401 Union Street
The Fairlane is a boutique hotel set to open in 2017 on the corner of 4th Avenue and Union Street Downtown. A 12-story former bank office building is being converted to create the 72-room property.
1218 6th Avenue North
A historic home from the 1870’s is being renovated and transformed into the Germantown Inn—a 6-room boutique hotel that is targeting a September 2016 opening.
201 8th Avenue South
JW Marriott Nashville is scheduled to open Downtown in July 2018. The 35-story tower will rise to be one of the tallest points in the city. In addition to offering 532 guest rooms, the full-service hotel will have 50,000 square feet of meeting space, two full-service dining options, a roof top bar, state-of-the-art spa and exercise facility, as well as an executive lounge.
204 21st Avenue South
Kimpton, an upscale brand affiliated with the nation’s largest chain of boutique hotels, plans to open in Nashville’s Midtown May 2017. The hotel will anchor a $100 million mixed-used project called Buckingham Midtown development. The planned full-service hotel will include 180 rooms, a restaurant and bar, 6,500 square feet of meeting and event space, a pool, and 630 parking spaces.
Moxy Hotel/Barkley Lake Inn
A 161-room Moxy Hotel by Marriott is planned to open Downtown in July of 2017. Moxy is a contemporary lifestyle brand of boutique hotels that strives to appeal to budget-saavy, millennial travelers. The hotel entrance will be planned for 3rd Avenue South, while a restaurant planned for the first floor will face Lower Broadway.
Intersection 11th & 12th Avenues and Pine Street
The 224-room lifestyle luxury Thompson Nashville, projected to open late-fall 2016, will sit on .64 acres on what had been a gravel parking lot. Rising 12 stories, the hotel will share the block home to The Station Inn and The 404 Hotel and Kitchen. The hotel will feature a ground-floor restaurant and boutique retail space, a rooftop featuring a stand-up bar, lounge seating, food offerings, and a venue open to the public that can also be used as private event space.
Tri-brand Marriott (AC Hotel, SpringHill Suites, and a Residence Inn by Marriott)
Korean Veterans Parkway & 5th Avenue
Atlanta-based North Point Hospitality Group has started work on the tri-branded Marriott hotel in SoBro. The 19-story hotel will have 455-rooms overall with a 204-unit AC Hotel, a 126-unit Residence Inn, and a 125-unit SpringHill Suites by Marriott. Valet parking will be on floors two through five and includes 444 parking spaces. The project will cost $120 million and is expected to open March 2018.
Tribute Portfolio by Starwood
4th Avenue North and Church Street
Plans have been made to convert downtown’s Noel Place into a new independent brand from Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. The 226-room hotel will have a restaurant, rooftop bar, and speakeasy and is projected to open July 2017.
Westin Nashville Hotel
100 Clark Place
The 27-story, 500,000-square-foot Westin Nashville Hotel will be built in SoBro on the northwest segment of the Music City Center roundabout. The hotel will be full-service with 454 rooms and will include a 6,000-square-foot spa, 8,000-square-foot restaurant space, rooftop bar, lounge and pool, and 200+ parking spaces. The project will cost $120-million and is projected to open September 2016.
230 4th Avenue North
A downtown office building is scheduled to be converted into a hotel by the same developer constructing The Westin Nashville Hotel. The Bobby will be a 134-room boutique hotel in the Wells Fargo Plaza on 4th Avenue North opening in July 2017.
710 Demonbreun Street
A 16-story, 400-room upscale Embassy Suites by Hilton is planned for Downtown near the Music City Center. The hotel will also include about 30,000 square feet of meeting space and a restaurant on the corner of Demonbreun.
Fairfield Inn Airport
Elm Hill Pike & Royal Parkway
Fairfield Inn Airport will be a limited service hotel near the Nashville International Airport. They are planning for 101 rooms and a December 2017 opening.
Hilton is looking to open a branch of their high-end Curio collection in Nashville’s Midtown. The full-service, upscale hotel will have 196 rooms in a mixed-use development.
Hilton Green Hills & Residence Inn
2400 Crestmoor Road
Construction is planned to start on a 146,900-square-foot Hilton and 90,110-square-foot Residence Inn in Green Hills. They are also planning for office and retail spaces, as well as an eight-level parking garage with over 550 spaces.
Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites
415 4th Avenue South
A full service, 228-room Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites is planned for SoBro, near the Music City Center convention hall. The hotel is projected to open in December of 2017.
The Joseph Nashville
401 4th Avenue South
The Joseph Luxury Collection is planning for its first Nashville location. The Joseph Nashville will be a 21-story, 300-room luxury hotel in the SoBro neighborhood. Ohio-based developers plan to open by 2019.
Residence Inn Opryland

The 125-room Residence Inn Opryland is projected to open March 2017.
Virgin Hotels Nashville
1 Music Row (1 Music Square West)
Virgin Hotel, a lifestyle hotel brand by billionaire British entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson, will feature two adjourning buildings connected by a glass walkway. One tower will rise 19 stories and include 15 for-sale penthouse units at the top and also a recording studio. The 16-story section will include 240 hotel rooms, The Common Club, a hybrid bar/lounge, a laid-back study, a restaurant designed to have the feel of a membership club without the fees, an entertainment venue, and a veranda with views of the city.
414 12th Avenue South
The W Hotel will be a part of a 16-story, mixed-use project planned for the Gulch. The hotel will have approximately 260 guestrooms, as well as a restaurant, a pool deck, and meeting and event spaces.
Courtyard by Marriott Nashville Downtown
170 4th Avenue North
The Courtyard Marriott Downtown Nashville has received an interior renovation job for their guest rooms and suites, valued at $2.5 million.
DoubleTree Nashville Downtown

Valued at $12 million dollars, the DoubleTree Nashville Downtown completed a renovation of the guest rooms, guest bathrooms, and all public areas, including the lobby and Fourth & U Bistro and Bar.
Gaylord Opryland Resort
2800 Opryland Drive
Gaylord Opryland renovated 483 guest rooms in the Garden Conservatory area of the resort, as well as several meeting rooms and a ballroom, with the renovation valued at $16 million. They are currently renovating 18 total meeting rooms, including the Hermitage meeting rooms, Cheekwood meeting rooms, and Governor’s chambers.
Hampton Inn & Suites Nashville/Airport

Currently undergoing renovation, the Hampton Inn & Suites Nashville Airport is making changes to the entire property, including the roof skyline, exterior, public spaces, guest rooms, and more.
Holiday Inn Nashville Airport
2200 Elm Hill Pike
All guestrooms, meeting spaces, and public areas have been renovated at the Holiday Inn Nashville Airport. Guestrooms were completely redone with new carpet, vinyl, bathroom floors, beds, bedding, light fixtures, and window treatments. The fitness center has all new Cybex equipment, and the lobby now has a business center. Latitude 36, a hotel restaurant with lunch, dinner, and live entertainment, was added in the renovations as well.
Holiday Inn Express Nashville Airport

The Holiday Inn Express Nashville Airport recently completed a full renovation. The exterior was upgraded with new landscaping and paint, and the interior includes a new business center, fitness center, and breakfast area. Their boardroom and meeting space have been newly refurbished. Guestrooms have been completely revamped with new beds, bedding, carpet, drapery, furniture, paint and décor. All corridors have new carpet, freshly painted walls, and updated lighting fixtures.
301 Union Street
The Hotel Indigo Downtown Nashville completed an expansion that provided an additional 30 guest rooms, for a total of 160.
Loews Vanderbilt Hotel
2100 West End Avenue
Loews Vanderbilt underwent a $17-million renovation, which includes a new restaurant and bar, rebuilt corridors, lobby space, and guest and public bathrooms. Using local music, fashion, and food as design inspiration, the hotel features a sleek, modern style with vintage inspiration. Mason Bar and Mason’s restaurant has a “Southern brasserie feeling…with a French influence.” Mason Bar has a video wall and wiring capabilities that allow musicians to “plug and play.”
Union Station Hotel
The Union Station Hotel is currently working on a full renovation—including the guest rooms, events space, and public area. The hotel bar and restaurant are being updated and relocated to a more prominent location in the lobby, and the lobby will be transformed into a gathering space with updated furnishings, communal tables, and lighting. They anticipate the renovation will be complete by the end of September 2016.
2516 12th Avenue South
12South Center is a three-story, mixed-use building that was completed in 2015. The first floor offers retail spaces, and the second and third floors house 14 apartments. Retail tenants include Bartaco, a casual street food concept, and Craft South, a shop offering fabrics, yarns, sewing machines, and handcrafted gifts.
A $20-million upgrade includes a facelift to the south entrance of Bridgestone Arena, where an entrance at Fifth and Demonbreun has opened up to Nashville’s developing SoBro area. Other renovations include 3,000 to 6,000 square feet of retail space (including a team store), a new tavern and pub called Tavern ‘96, and upgrades to building parts such as a new HVAC system and carpet on upper levels. 34 Metal detectors have been installed at entrances across the arena, including 12 at the main entrance on the corner of 5th Avenue and Broadway. All of the seats in the lower bowl of the arena have been replaced, all handrails and entrances have been repainted, and the stairs have been treated with anti-slip and glow-in-the-dark strips for patron’s safety. Several new food options were constructed near the main entrance, and the Nissan Atrium food court was totally gutted and renovated. New indoor and outdoor plaza areas have been upgraded, along with glass to replace portions of existing concrete. A massive outdoor television screen and news banner are on display for those passing by.
Intersection of 21st Avenue South, Broadway, and Division Street
A $100-million, 17-story, 600,000-square-foot mixed-use Midtown project, called Buckingham Midtown, is being developed by Indianapolis-based Buckingham Companies. The Buckingham Midtown development is LEED-designed and will include a Kimpton Hotel, a restaurant and bar, 35,000 square feet of ground-level retail space, 350 upscale apartments, and 630 parking spaces. The project should open in phases with full completion of the project expected in early 2017.
Corsair Artisan Distillery
601 Merritt Avenue
Due to celebrated demand, Corsair is expanding into the Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood in South Nashville. Plans are to keep the Marathon Village facility focus on brewing beer and the Wedgewood-Houston facility for distillation and barreling.
3630 Redmon Street
The School of Nashville Ballet has renovated and expanded its building. They purchased the adjoining space of its Sylvan Heights building, previously occupied by Climb Nashville, and increased the facility from 31,000 to 44,000 square feet. The expansion includes three new studios, a larger lobby, additional parking, increased administrative space, a Pilates room, and a physical therapy room.
1 Titans Way
The $15 million dollar improvements will supply the home of the Tennessee Titans with 68,798 new seats. Upgrades are expected to take two off seasons to complete, and will be funded by the ticket taxes from games and the revenue from concessions at the CMA Music Festival.
ATTRACTION and VENUE UPDATES
1st Avenue South
The debut of the 6,800-seat, state-of-the-art Ascend Amphitheater at The Green at Riverfront Park was in July 2015. Ascend Amphitheater is a part of the West Riverfront Park redevelopment project in downtown Nashville.
The Band Box
401 Jackson Street
Strategic Hospitality has opened The Band Box, an outdoor restaurant, bar, and entertainment venue at the new Sounds stadium. The Band Box occupies 4,000 square feet in the right field concourse area, and will be open for all home games. The restaurant offers an elevated stadium dining experience, including items such as Porter Road Butcher pork sausage, smoked pork nachos, salads, craft beers on tap, a liquor selection, and entertainment options including televisions, ping pong, corn hole, table hockey, and shuffleboard.
The Country Club at the Band Box
401 Jackson Street
Strategic Hospitality partnered with OZ Arts Nashville to create The Country Club at the Band Box– a 9-hole miniature golf course in right field. The course, which features local or regional artists at each of the nine holes, opened in July 2016. It is open during regular ball park hours, with extended hours for weekend games.
First Tennessee Park

The Sounds baseball stadium, First Tennessee Park, opened in time for the Sounds first home game on April 17, 2015. The city issued municipal bonds to cover an estimated $65 million price tag, including both construction and land acquisition cost, with the Sounds committing to a 30-year lease agreement. The ballpark has 8,500 fixed seats, a huge parking lot, and a pedestrian greenway among other things. The Sounds have pledged $60 million towards mixed-use real estate development in the surrounding area.
George Jones Museum

Spanning more than 44,000 square feet, the new George Jones Museum opened April 2015 and gives fans a chance to get a never-before-seen look into the life and career of the musical icon. The world-class museum features exhaustive displays of memorabilia and photos, video displays and interactive experiences, and a 40-seat rocking chair theatre that shows clips from Jones’s television broadcasts, concert appearances, and interviews. There is a moonshine tasting bar, Possum Holler Cafe, and a gift shop on the first floor, and a museum showcasing the country music legend on the second floor. The third-floor offers an event space and a rooftop bar that overlooks the Cumberland River.
Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum

The Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum partnered with the GRAMMY Museum at L.A. Live to host a permanent collection of the Grammy Museum Gallery, which pays tribute to music’s cultural history and the GRAMMY award itself. The interactive exhibit appeals to visitors of all ages, but especially students, who are able to explore the creative process of making music.
Nashville Zoo at Grassmere

Nashville Zoo is moving forward with a $160-million expansion plan that will more than double the number of animals and Zoo’s acreage by 2020. With more state-of-the-art animal exhibits featuring Andean bears and spider monkeys, a new entry plaza, a state-of-the-art veterinary hospital, and vital infrastructure improvements including expanded parking, roads, and walkways. Plans are also underway to expand the elephant facilities and installation of state-of-the-art equipment.
Former Mayor Karl Dean enacted plans for new park spaces along the riverfront in downtown Nashville. The first phase opened late summer 2015 and stretches 11 acres and includes a dog park, ornamental gardens, and most notably, a 1.5-acre event lawn called “The Green,” anchored by Ascend Amphitheater. Still to come is a 4.5-acre park on the east bank, increasing access to the Cumberland for river activities. A mile of new greenway will extend from the Rolling Mill Hill Greenway to the Riverfront, creating a two-mile continuous walking and biking loop. Costs of development will be approximately $35 million.

The historic Ryman Auditorium has completed a $14-million expansion and renovation of the building's 1994 additions. The renovation increases the experience for both guests and concert attendees. The Ryman has a new restaurant, Cafe Lula, which sits next to an expanded outdoor box office. Cafe Lula seats 80 guests inside and 30 more on a covered patio and includes an espresso bar in the morning and a full-service bar in the afternoon and evening. Once inside the renovated lobby, visitors will find more concessions, additional restroom facilities, an expanded retail area with interior and exterior access, and larger lobbies. Also new is the “Soul of Nashville,” a theater experience which utilizes special effects, archival images, and holograms to tell the story of the Ryman in an entertaining and emotional way.
120 2nd Avenue North
The Wildhorse Saloon recently completed a $9-million-dollar renovation to their space on historic 2nd Avenue. It has been a premiere attraction of downtown Nashville for 20 years, drawing crowds with their live music, line dancing, bars, food, and entertainment. The main focal point remains the 3,300-square-foot dance floor, but the entire 66,000-square-foot, multi-floor building has been revamped to have a more contemporary rustic look and feel, to better cater to the visitors, locals, and convention attendees that they serve.
